Subject: Rescheduled level 2 Instructor Assessment Sat 09 Nov 2024, 6:01 pm
Calling all Level 1 and level 2 Paddlers, we have been given a date for our rescheduled assessment, hopefully the weather will co operate this time round.
Canoeing Ireland will be carrying out a L2 Kayak Instructor Assessments at PKC Club on Sunday 17th November, There will be two sessions 9:30am and 1pm. Instructors are being assessed, following a number of years training and logging hours.
For this assessment to go ahead we need two sets of new or relatively new kayakers to be available for the trainee instructors to run a training session at the club in front of the Canoeing Ireland Assessors. We need at least 6 participants in each group. Each training session will last about 2.5 hrs on the water.
If you can support and volunteer, this will be an ideal opportunity to get some extra training in, with a full refresh of the L2 kayaking syllabus strokes. There will be refreshment and scones laid on after each session in the clubhouse.
If you can volunteer for either the 9:30am or the 1pm sessions (or want to do both) can you please reply to this post and we will reserve you a slot for the day. Many Thanks in advance from John, Kirk, Maurice and Jackie

All - Many Thanks we now have volunteers for both sessions. Big thank you to Sean Lynn and Shane Lynch for their support gathering volunteers in addition to the PKC volunteers
For 09:00 morning session - we have 6 slots reserved for. 4 PKC - (Melinda, Ger, Aileen and Roisin) and 2 UCC (Alex Roper and one other to confirm). We could probably fit in one or two more if people still want to come for the training.
For 13:00 lunchtime session we have 7 slots reserved for. 2 UCC - (Sam Jemus and Shelia Tarrant) and 5 (cara community Ireland - from Brian Butler). This group will be predominantly novice beginner.
I will be opening the club from 08:30 on Sunday morning - while conditions look good it may be cold so please make sure everyone dresses appropriately.
We will be having scones, tea and coffee for all participants.
