Wild Atlantic Challenge Kenmare 2018

Dear Kayak Club,

I’m writing to invite you to the Wild Atlantic Challenge 2018 (WAC). This challenge is set in the beautiful Kenmare Bay and there are a range of course distances to challenge everybody: 10km, 20km and 30km routes.

During the challenge you will be kayaking between the Caha Mountains to the south and the Macgillycuddy Reeks to the north as well as passing one of Ireland's largest seal colonies. Your time will be recorded and there will be various prizes for the winners but the emphasis is on challenging yourself.

Places are filling up and to make sure that you can take part I highly recommend registering as soon as possible. Entry is €35 per paddler and this includes a t-shirt, safety cover, a medal and a donation to the Irish Community Rapid Response (ICRR).

WAC participants :
Friday 11th May - Registration / WAC pack collection 19:00 - 21:00 at Cafe Mocha in "Kenmare City Centre" 😁
Parking boats inside Parking area at pier arranged call 087 3892991 or 087 6290662 for gate locking
Saturday 12th May - Registration / WAC pack collection morning 8:00 - 11:00 at Kenmare pier.
Parking of all cars, trailers at parking area back of pier, stewards will be present to help you park and launch/recover.
10AM = safety briefing
11AM = start ( ALL BOATS READY IN THE WATER)
Finish also at Kenmare pier, Food, drink etc all at pier.
Medals and trophies presented straight after at pier.
Gathering and reminiscing in the town after....
Bed at early hours................a full day !!!!
