Subject: Footage of Sjoa-creeking trip in Norway Mon 08 Jul 2024, 5:18 pm
Some footage of a recent trip to the Sjoa valley in Norway with Simon Westgarth through Gene17Kayaking. One of the best trips I have been on to date!! and that's credit to Simon Westgarth for tailoring a coaching program to suit..
Over the week I had 3 days of 1on1 coaching from Simon and 3 days as a group of 4, Simon's skillset on the river are off the scale and speak volumes for themselves but on top of that I would say he is almost a better coach, the level of detail in how he breaks down the principles and technique of what's required in the tactical approach to running advanced whitewater has really impressed me and given me alot of takeaways to work on to further develop.
Norways countryside is just spectacular and has blown me away, this is a perfect training ground for running big volume water and was one of the most enjoyable weeks I have had in a kayak to date!
I cannot recommend enough Gene17 and Simon Westgarth to anyone thinking about a guided/coaching across Europe, Norway or further afield again, trips can be tailored to suit all levels of ability... you will not be disappointed!
Hope you enjoy the edit... I had great fun filming it all
