Following a comprehensive recruitment process, Canoeing Ireland is pleased to announce that Moira Aston will take up the position of Chief Executive, commencing December 3rd 2018.

Moira has worked for Athletics Ireland since 2007, where she is currently Director of Operations. She has extensive experience in all aspects of NGB management and is completing an MSc in Business.

Canoeing Ireland President, Paul Donnelly, said, “We are delighted that the interview process resulted in identifying an excellent choice for CEO. Moira brings a wealth of skills, experience and enthusiasm that will enable us to serve our members effectively.

We look forward to working closely with Moira to deliver the strategies incorporated in our Strategic Plan”.

Moira Aston said:

“I am delighted to be joining Canoeing Ireland at this exciting time for the sport and look forward to working with the Board, the staff and the many volunteers to build on the strong foundations that have already been laid and I welcome the opportunity to explore new opportunities for growth.

I hope you will join the Canoeing Ireland office in welcoming her to the Paddling community when she takes up the role.

Thanks,

Vicki Guy,

Canoeing Ireland.
