On the lookout for something suitable for paddling to work. Approx 4 miles across cork harbour. I have thought of a sea-kayak but would rather something a bit quicker so as to get an extra 5 min in bed. I have checked out irishmarathoncanoeing.com to see if there was anything for sale but very little showed up. Also as i would be no expert, some advice/comments/critisisms would be appreciated.

A good choice is a White Water boat .Fast and more stable than a K boat, I have one if you want to try it out

Try maybe a plastic wavehopper. WW boat but out of plastic. longer lasting (depending on where you plan to beach).

I was looking at the plastic wavehoppers this year at the lifey descent. Might be what i'm looking for. I am going to give Evans a go. As for beaching a fibreglass boat should be safe enough. Put in will be at a slipway and i will be getting out on a sandy beach. Thanks for the advice.
