PostSubject: UPPER BANDON. 8/5/08.   Fri Apr 25 2008, 00:46

Hopefully. Weather permitting. If all goes to plan.

Planning on heading to the Upper Bandon for a paddle on Thursday night the 8th of May.

The Upper Bandon is a grade 2/3 river. The section we are planing on running, from the House down to the Double Drop, can be run at fairly low levels.
It's a short run that can be run a few times.

The Upper Bandon is just over half an hours drive from Cork. So we meet there instead of at the Club.
I was thinking being at the Get On around 7ish. Maybe 7.30.

Anyone who has their own gear and knows the way. Sound. I'll stick up the time's next week.

Anyone who needs gear or a lift or both. You need to be at the Club site next Thursday, 1/5/08, to make arrangements.
Posting on the Forum won't do. You'll need to call down to the site to arrange your boat and gear. That's the week before we head down.

Like I said. Everything will be arranged this Thursday night. 1/5/08.

Anyone who needs gear or a spin has to be at the site this thursday. 1/5/08.

TRIP IS ON THE FOLLOWING THURSDAY. 8/5/08

Time will probably be at the Get On for 7.00 at the latest. So you'd need to be ready to leave Cork soon after 6.00.

I'll stick directions up later. But you'd be best to meet up with one of the lads who knows the way and follow them.

Hopefully if we get this trip sorted we can see how we'd run further trips with shorter notice.

PostSubject: Thanks for organising this.   Fri May 09 2008, 22:09

Thanks to the lads for organising this run, very enjoyable.

Unlike the last time, I didn't swim. Yippee!!

Even managed to get a few rolls in! These runs are great for gaining confidence. Count me in for the next one.

Must remember though....... "rocks are your friend" ......."hug the rocks"....."be one with the rock"..... very deep stuff!!

Thanks again

Any pictures can be sent to info@phoenixkayakclub.com and I will put a gallery together for the Website of them all. Good to hear it was enjoyed by all. As Paul said , this is what people need to gain confidence on the rivers. Well done micheal for organising.
