PostSubject: POOL SESSIONS AT CARRIGNABHFEAR POOL, SATURDAY MORNINGS   Sun Jun 29 2008, 16:42

This is for all. There are now pool sessions at Carrignabhfear outdoor pool. The sessions run from 11am-12pm and 12pm-1pm on saturday mornings. The price will be 6euro a hour. There is a limit of about 8 people per session depending on the size of boats. After the session there are hot showers. This is well worth it because the pool isn't as far away as Cobh and it's cheaper.

Hope to see you there afro

I've a question: if it's an outdoor pool and it's e6 an hour why would you not just go on the Lee for free?

Incidentally, the person in question is not a safety officer for UCC, nor does he have any instructor qualifications.

The pool is a heated pool. Very Happy
There is actully no instructers but it is just a chance for people to come along and practise things like there rolls and free style flat water tricks and wat not. The money is really only for the cost of heating the pool and for the lifeguard on duty.

But Mother Nature heats the Lee for free.
Well it's warmer than December.
And you can practise your roll and flat water free style moves and what not.

€6 mightn't seem like much now.
But wait until the recession hits.
It'll be like the 80s all over again.
Only worse.
Poverty, misery, Duran Duran,Fiat cars and Paddy O Gorman.
Hand rolled ciggarets, cheap cider from Quinnsworth and potín.
Doc Martins and duffel coats.

On the plus side it did seem to rain a lot in the 80s.
And if everyone is unemployed there'll be lots of people to paddle with.
If they're not gone to England on Slattery's bus that is.

Guys this would be good for any one who can't roll or would like to practise it. Pools are good place to learn rolling as people are calmer under clear water. If any one would like to go post up or something. Good man Dylan for doing this.
