Ladies & Gentlemen,

this race is coming up at
the end of May. With the amount of paddlers in the club these days it
would be a disgrace for all the Club Sea-kayaks not to be on the water
that day.
For those of ye
worried about entering a 'RACE' it is just a bit of fun and is a great
acievement.
Entry is for paddlers of level 3 proficiency and above.
There are also 2 double sea-kayaks in the club which would be ideal for people wanting to give it a go, or for mixed teams.

Application Forms are available on the www.phoenixkayakclub.com
home page or for more info check out the race website
@ http://www.oceantocity.com/

Please reply here if interested so as we'll know who wants boats.

Doubles will be available at the site on thursday week to try out along with singles.

Micheal we can't enter cos we'll be off in the Alps sunning ourselves and paddling all kinds of lovely rivers, while the rest of them are here in the cold slogging across the harbour. Ah well.... lol!

I'm a bit worried about this France trip. Who'll rescue the two of ye?

Also there is a downside to going to france. Its full of french people.

Micheal is only going to France as he knew he wouldn't beat me in the ocean to city.

As I remember last years Ocean to City, "nice and warm" are not the words I'd use to describe it.
More like "freezing cold" and "small craft warning".

"small craft warning" - Sounds like fun!!
"freezing cold" -Michéal, thought you said paddling is always better when it is freezing!

And you will be missing it all. tongue

PostSubject: Ocean to City Numbers to Date   Wed Apr 30 2008, 12:30

Interest is growing slowly, remember closing date for entries is mid May.

Names to date from PKC:

Dave O'Leary (Club Boat)
Don O'Hanlon (Club Boat)
John Doyle (Own Boat)
Donal Clancy (Club Boat)
Don O'Brien (Own Boat)
Zuppy (Own boat)
Mick Boylan (Own Boat)
Ray Ryan (Own Boat)

I'm sure there will be a few more of the sea-kayakers paddling. Did not hear names yet. Question

You'd think with all the whining that came from Blarney that they'd be
wanting to get out paddling for this. Remember doubles are available as
well. Smile

I thought David Lane might be intersted but heard nothing yet. Its probably a bit too far for him Question

Michael morris seems to be keeping quite. Must be practising in the Race boat. tongue

Surely our Competitions Officer will be entering this COMPETITION.
