Doing it today. There are talks of a big crew heading up this year. Names so far i think: Dave O'Leary Mick Boylan Willie Wallis Fergus McCarthy Ray Ryan Micheal McSweeney Danny O'Keefe Diarmuid Hickey Don O'Hanlon Donal Clancy Surely there are a few more, can't think of names off hand. A few that should be thinking of it, if not already registered Seamus O'Mahony Maurice Foley Noel O'Flynn Paul Heffernan Sean O'Sullivan Paul Kearney Darren Lane Cian Twohig Ciaran Buckley Olan O'Driscoll There are 7 wavehoppers available, and also 5 Club dancers (no micheal these are not people who dance in clubs, there actually a type of kayak) Creek boats are perfectly acceptable for this race, i've done it in a Perception Arc before. A bit slow but loads of fun on the weirs. This really is a great day out, and i'd encourage anyone that is thinking about it, to GO FOR IT

You could try a plastic sea kayak Pat, but I wouldn't take that beautiful crafted wooden sea kayak that you have down those weirs. Especially Palmerstown weir

If his gear was there to be scrutineered by the officials then someone else could collect his race pack. 11 would be cutting it tight, but if finishing at 8. Then half ten sounds easily achievable as he'd only have to go to Straffan, and collect the car after. Good man Dazl

Noel. You'd need to be at the start in Straffen before 11.30. Thats the cut off time for the scrutineering. That means, in the Descent Car Park in Straffen, ready to get on the water. You will have to walk from there to the get on, maybe 15 minutes. Then you have to paddle up river to the start, maybe 10 minutes. If you miss the for the scrutineering, you won't be left start. Alsoyou need to collect your Bibs and Numbers. Again, you won't be left start without these. Cutoff for collecting these is 10.00. One possibility is to get your friends to collect your Bib and Number, and sort out the shuttle. Ask Mick Boyland about how much time you need. He drove up direct to Straffen two years ago. Think he let early though, and he had a real good car.

| I may be cutting it too tight for this one would love to do it but would need one of those time machine thinggys. Was hoping to get a kip in the car with someone else driving up they could always turn up the radio if my snoreing got too much . I might be able to get off early that night but won't know till next week , is it possible to send off the entry form now with the off chance I can make it ? and if I can't make it will it mean somebody else will lose a place ? I don't want that happening. I've stored up plenty of browine points for this one Noel so " wife watching " isn't a problem I may be suffering from a lack of paddeling though you might see me swimming at the first weir. Thanks for the info guys. _________________ Kind Regards - DazL
