| Hey folks, just wondering are people sticking around for the after party or no? Filling in my form and wondering should I tick the box. Y'know, to listen to Dave making yet more excuses for swimming yet again... yawn |

| Folks a few ???? re. Liffy Descent. 1. How much to enter is it Euro40 per competitor or Icu individual Membership Euro20 ? 2. I'm 39years old and will try the preception dancer boat so what class should i fill out on the entry form. ? 3. Is there spare preception dancers lying around that I can borrow for the time leading up to the race I'll have to Bond with the boat find my Karma and all that ? 4. It says any competitor seeing another in real danger is compelled to render all assistance possible does that mean I will have to Rescue Noel at every Weir ??? . Sending off the entry today so will need to fill out the right info. _________________ Kind Regards - DazL

| Daz in answer to 1-4: 1. €40 is the entry fee. An additional €20 is paid if you are not a member of the ICU. But since you are an ICU member through the club you do not need to pay the extra €20. 2. Senior General Purpose for a dancer. I'll let someone else start the age jokes but I don't think you are a veteran just yet a 39. 3. Give Rob Boland a shout about the dancers but I think they are plenty in the container. 4. Its every man for himself Darren. Sorry Noel! Its a fun day so some people travel in groups and help each other if they get in trouble. However there is plenty of rescue at each weir so you'll be safe enough if you are on your own. Last year the first weir at Straffen was messy so i did help some one out as rescue were stretched. After that everyone is space out so the remaining weirs don't get as much instant carnage. Its a great day out Darren. It was my first last year and I had a great laugh. Especially at Palmerstown Weir. |

| Dazl, in answer to Q4, you should rescue people if they appear to be in serious danger. If you hear Noel shouting and he's in the water, he's obviously not in too much danger if he's able to shout for help. On the other hand if he's in such danger that he's unable to shout you're not going to hear him so will be oblivious to his perilous situation and are therefore free to continue the race. |

| Ya I like a good come back won't argue with you Noel, I was taught to respect my elders . . Got a feeling i'm gonna be eating my words on the Liffey, with all that Sea Paddeling you've been doing lately you'll be like the Duracell Bunny on Speed . Just be sure to wait for me at the Car Park I should arrive at the finish 2 Hours after you i don't fancy having to walk home. _________________ Kind Regards - DazL

| We got this map at the race yesterday. Covers all the features from the portage down. Might be of use to folks doing the Descent. |
