Surf: Nothing showing up on MGS this week so far but as with last weekend surf event it changes daily, today and tomorrow a couple of 3 or 4' breaking waves, probally not worth the trip unless you want to practise rolling!!!

Where exactly is Inch Beach Embarassed
I know it's somewhere around Middleton/Whitegate but last time I was around there I didn't see any signs for it Question

I'm trying to figure out how to attach a map but I'm not blessed in these matters....

Travelling the road between Midleton and Whitegate you need to take the fork to the left immediately after the R631 turn-off to Cloyne. Take the next fork to the right (pass an even more minor road on the left) and take a 90 degree left shortly afterwards (about 500m).

Stay on this road for about 3 miles and you should hit the beach.

I'm sure someone will attach a map before long.Surprised

btw I was out there yesterday and there was only 2/3 ft windwaves - not really worth the effort.Rolling Eyes

The View Larger Map seems to work, ignore the other tosh.

The beach is where the Lahard label is.

Hope this helps... I need to lie down now. pale

Tommorrow might be a bit of fun, forecast is changing constantly, have a look in the morning at MGS and it could be worth going surfing looks like from 9am to 6pm will be the best.

Thursday and friday are looking very promising but too early in the week to call yet, will probally change, hopefully not though!!!

Yesterday was peachy!!! Tomorrow looks like small waves , Friday and Saturday looking reasonable but report changing daily! If you see a 5 ft plus breaking wave estimate go for it! For anyone that does not know in the MGS report double click on the time and you will get the breaking wave estimate, a long period is also what your looking for.

This report should be the same for Garretstown

PostSubject: Other surf forecast websites for reference   Wed Jun 10 2009, 14:05

Sounds like you got a good session in yesterday Will. I'm dead jealous. Sad

I was stuck in Jackeenland for the day but the harbour was glassy on my way home so the predicted swell must've showed up on cue.

For those interested there are a couple of other surf forecast sites that can give specific predictions for their local breaks like Garretstown.

http://www.surf-forecast.com/

Unfortunately, Inch doesn't get a mention anywhere, for some reason Ballycotton gets listed and I've yet to see a decent wave down there. Shocked

Another good site is Coldswell, which gives a number of predictions. Soulsurfer is a likeable old codger who gives a general forecast for the south of Ireland which is usually pretty on the money.

http://coldswell.com/

The more info you can get the better to avoid that fruitless journey to a break with no waves showing. I suppose you could always go for a paddle...cheers

Weekend looking Good! if your not going to the Alps, head to your nearest beach!! does'nt sound as good really does it Sad Sad , But still their seems to be a swell and a reasonable breaking wave estimate, as long as the winds do not get stronger some fun is to be had both days. cheers cheers cheers

Willie's away at the moment, so I'm deputising...

Tuesday's looking really good for big clean waves.

Was out tonight & they were fantastic!
Good clean waves, easy enough to get out even though there were 10 foot breakers at times...
(did a few somersaults all right bit I tightened up my boat & my roll is back!)cheers Happy boy tonight!

Tuesday's supposed to be even bigger! Shocked affraid cheers

Magic seaweed are predicting Four star waves tonight.

13 foot swell with 10 foot breakers.

Last night you had loads of clean double breakers.

Should be perfect tonight...

(It's all gone tomorrow, so don't put it off)
