PostSubject: Camping Gas Cylinder   Tue 30 May 2017, 5:44 pm

Hi all,
Any chance one of ye has one of these camping gas cylinders lurking in the back of your shed? Anyone got one they want to part with?

An empty one will even do, as a refill is a LOT cheaper than buying a bottle.

Thanks! 👍👍👍

Hi Sean, I used to use Campingaz cylinders until someone in the trade pointed out that a 5kg butane refill of calor gas is cheaper than a 1.8kg Campingaz refill. You'd have to spend 20 on a regulator to suit the calor cylinder but it will pay for itself in no time.
The 5kg cylinder is similar to those used in a Super Ser but half the size and you can swap a full size Super Ser type for the 5kg one at the Cork Gas Centre on Forge Hill.
In my case they took my 1.8kg and gave me the 5kg as a straight swap. Very happy with it too!
