Would be a nice trip on a mid afternoon early evening Saturday or Sunday

Why don't you use your organising skills and arrange it for 2nd half of August or 1st half of September

I am sure Blueways would be delisted to see Phoenix club and there friends making use of the facility.

Looking at club Calendar 22 or 23 August look like an option
12 or 13 September also look like an option.

later option might get better support

Sunday would suit me better, I work Saturday mornings. But don't let that be a deciding factor! Go according to the weather. I've fished that area 100s of times and it can be wild, but always beautiful. Very Happy

I'm interested in this, as Simon says, good to have groups taking an interest in the Blueway initiative.
There's also the plus of loads of nice places for nosh afterwards....even a half decent fish and chip shop!!

...oh, and suggest you start a thread called 'Bantry Bay Blueway trip', as 'anybody hear about this' sounds a bit like the preamble to a disaster story!

Date depending I'd be on for this.

FYI I have updated the club calendar, Our End of Summer BBQ will take place on Sept 13th.

There are a couple of designated club supported events scheduled soon. Whilst we don't expect everyone to turn out, people should be aware when planning group trips, so they can decide for themselves if they wish to support.

Notice will be issued soon, but they are:

1. Musgrave Triathlon Swim: Sat August 29th
2. Diabetes Canoe Challenge: Sat Sept 5th

Also, on August 30th we have decided to support Blackwater Sub-Aqua Club's fundraising raft run in Fermoy because of the search & rescue/recovery work they do. They are looking for 15 safety kayakers at the event. Donal Clancy/Finbar O'Hanlon coordinating.
