Panel Membership Procedure
For those wishing to become a member of either a Trainer Panel or an Assessor Panel there is a procedure to follow which is outlined below.
Firstly identify the type of course you would like to train or assess for and then follow these three steps.
1. Attend as an observer on one training course or assessment given by a current panel member who signs the panel application confirming your attendance.
2. Attend as an assistant on one training course or assessment given by a current panel member who determines whether to recommend you for panel membership. The Tutor or assessment organiser may recommend that you gain further experience before recommending you for panel membership.
3. Forward the Panel application for consideration to the Training and Development Committee. Following successful consideration, an applicant will be registered on the panel database.

See Change – help reduce the stigma around mental health
Canoeing Ireland is supporting the See Change – Green Ribbon initiative this May to help reduce the stigma around mental health. Green Ribbon would like our help to promote #greenribbonIRL on twitter and facebook by taking pictures and videos of kayaking adventures around Ireland and the world in the month of May with people wearing Green Ribbons. We have over 1,000 ribbons here in the office to distribute to our members to promote this initiative. So whether you’re going for a leisurely paddle on your local run, training for a competition or heading off on an adventure abroad in May, get in touch with us and we’ll send you on some ribbons to take photos with and help reduce the stigma around mental health.
So go on – show people that Irish kayakers are fully up for reducing the stigma around mental health!
We have attached a poster and information letter for your information or go to for further information.
To order, please email requesting a quantity of ribbons.
