Phoenix Kayak Club are based on the River Lee, and run Beginners courses throughout the Summer, while also entertaining their Current membership every Thursday night.

Phoenix Kayak Club Race. Sunday 24th November, 2013.

Course.
Long Start; Inniscarra Dam to Slip-way on Lee Fields. Distance approximately 13 km.
Short Start; Weir in Ballincollig Park to Slip-way on Lee Fields. Distance approximately 9 km.

Phoenix club house open at 9.00 for registration and to arrange car-pool and shuttle. Safety briefing at 10.00. Shuttle to race start soon after 10.00.
Meet ESB staff at Inniscarra Dam at 10.30.

Start Times.
Long Start;
Dancers, similar longer GP boats and shorter touring kayaks start at 11.00.
Wave-hoppers, sea kayaks, training K-boats and Canadians start at 11.10.
K1 boats start at 11.15.
K2 boats start at 11.20.
Short Start;
Regular river running boats; e.g. Burn, Everest, Mamba, Diesel, etc, start at 11.00.
Dancers, similar longer GP boats and shorter touring kayaks who do not wish to complete the full course start at 11.05.
Any other boats from the Long Start classes who do not wish to complete the full course start at 11.10.

Finish Times.
It is expected that all boats will have completed the course by 13.00.

This race is open to all Phoenix Club Members who hold at least Level 2 Kayak/Canoe Skills. We also invite other ICU registered club and individual paddlers who hold at least Level 2 Kayak/Canoe Skills to join us.
For insurance reasons all competitors must be ICU registered. ICU registration will be available on the morning of the race.

There will be a 5 fee. This will go towards refreshments (Tea/coffee & biscuits. Not beer and whiskey.) Any surplus funds will go into the Phoenix Club kitty.
