Intermediate White Water Kayaking – essential tactics and techniques to successfully navigate grade II-III
White Water Open Canoeing – like you’ve never seen it!

Sea Kayak Fishing – how to catch your dinner
Rockhopping in a Sea Kayak – slalom in a sea kayak

I think this is what I am going to sign up for.

Anyone any thoughts on digs for the sat night. I was thinking some where between Kilkenny and Wexford might be more suitable for anyone doing both a river and a sea choice.

Any suggestions?

Ralph

I'd like to sign up to
tramore&Copper coast 1)Surf launching and landing in a sea kayak
2)Rock hoppin in a sea kayak

then i'm wanting to sign up to loads others. Anyone signing up for any of these?
Surf sea rescue
White Water K1 paddling
Stand up paddle boarding
Flat water K1 kayaking
Intermediate white water kayaking.

I'd be more inclined to stay around Kilkenny if that is where the organised events for the evening are.

PostSubject: paddlefest ... 2013 / accomodation    Fri 22 Feb 2013, 7:28 pm

i'm seeking a heavy sleeper, to consider room share, like an affordable hotel ... ! worse case scenario, you'll decamp to either of the kayaks, we'll bring with us ... ! contact in person to myself or on 086 8534 888 ... ! i'd agree with ruth,in staying around the marble city, if the social events are taking place there ... !

I don't trust the irish weather for camping in april, so I'll be booking in somewhere.

How many are going? Tina and i are going. City Wall Townhouse is available- it sleeps 8/9 people. It says there is a small gated patio area so i figure small boats can be stored there but I'm not sure about where to put sea kayaks.

They said price is €350 for one night, €495 for two.

Ralph, finbarr ruth and I are up for sharing a house if there are more interested in sharing. We would be able to do self catering and drying out the gear, if anyone interested. If we can get more people that would be great! please forum back.

I know that canoeing ireland dont get everything perfect but for me this was an excellent event. The organisation and pricing were very good and we had some of the best kayakers from north and south giving of their time and expertise to help those of us willing to learn.
Ok ,i got the perfect sequence with sea on saturday and whitewater today. those who got sea today were not as lucky.
We had a good representation from Phoenix at the event which was good to see. Its certainly an event i would go to in the future and would encourage others to do similar.

having read finbarr's initial report, i'm slapping myself with a split that i didn't attend paddlefest, 2013 .. !
it has strengthened my resolve not to forego, this event next year .. ! i hope phoenix members got some snaps
and footage to show us what we missed out on .. ! great to hear we had a significant showing from "team phoenix" .. !
