PostSubject: safety for Ballycotton island swim   Thu 23 Aug 2012, 4:03 pm

Ladies and gents,

I was asked to post this up on the forum in the hope that it may attract a few local kayakers for safety cover.

The swim takes place at 6:30pm on friday the 31st of August. If you are available please drop Carol Cashell a txt @ O868310537

All proceeds go to Ballycotton RNLI

Regards,

Dave O'Leary

The RNLI is a very deserving charity, one that all kayakers should consider supporting, you just might need them in the future.

However, I need to make members aware that due to safety issues during a past swim, the committee decided to withdraw official club support for this event.

If anyone still wishes to help out, I'm sure Alan O'Brien will be happy to discuss safety with you. He was our lead man on the day in question.

Paul Heff
On behalf of the Committee
