Hi Richie,
I have those AJ Foam cradles. They are fine for short trips but not great for long runs. The problem with them as far as I'm concerned is the foam is too soft. The boat tends to move from side to side a bit with them. If they had some stiffer foam in them I think they might work better but if you want to give them a try let me know...

I bought the "Thule Hull A Port Kayak Carrier 835-1" from Banty Bay Canoes when I got my new sea kayak. I'm very happy with them. I have seen reports of the base cracking on some people but I havent had any issues. I always tie the boat to the tow rings at the front and back of the car for extra security.

I think Noel (Nollaig) has the Malone Autoloader and is very happy with them. They look like a nice system.

A lot of people go for the old style J-Bars and put plenty of padding on them

I think Paul Heff has made up a V-Bar style system for a few people in the club. You could talk to him, I'm sure he might do something for a small fee... Smile Smile
