Make sure you come back to us as a level 5 instructor Conor. You can also scout all the rivers for a suitable club trip next year?

Good luck.

I spent a week paddling in Norway, it is completely absolutely amazing! It's a fairly big place though so a lot will depend where you're based. Having said that - the public transport system is good, we used planes, trains and overnight buses and all went perfectly to schedule. They've a fairly decent white water rafting industry, and it's safe to assume anywhere there's rafting there'll be kayaking. We paddled anything and everything from creeky pool drop type rivers, to big slides, to big volume bouncy fun. Also from looking out the window during our train trip up to Sjoa I would love to go back and go sea kayaking around the fjords, the scenery is really incredible.
There's a river festival in July in Sjoa (one of the big river running areas), possibly a good way to meet people and get to know the rivers Link
Simon Westgarth runs various courses over the summer in various places.
And a lot of paddlers tend to come and go over the summer. There's an irish guy Derek who we paddled with in France last summer in Norway for the summer paddling, he posts on irish whitewater forum if you wanted to look him up.
It is expensive, and the 20 hour daylight in the summer takes a bit of getting used to (as I imagine would 20 hour darkness in winter!) but definitely recommended.
A small taste of paddling in Norway here:

Hope that's of some use, ask if you've any specific questions
