Phoenix Kayak Club are based on the River Lee, and run Beginners courses throughout the Summer, while also entertaining their Current membership every Thursday night.

Just got this from Benny Cullen. Myself and Darragh are going to Solvenia anyone else interested?



This year we have decided to try something a little bit different from the previous years. The programme of courses will be as follows:

Alps Revolution Course: Fri 1 Jun Wed 6 Jun Course Cost 1,050

Expert Paddling Course incorporating Level 5 Skills Training and RSR 3. This course will be run on a mobile basis in Italy and Switzerland mostly on Grade IV and above white water. Valleys visited will be the likes of the Sesia, Aosta, Soana, Verzasca to make the most of water levels. Course participants must be of a solid Level 4 Skills Standard to attend.Return flights to Milan as of today cost 140. Car rental for the week starts at 150

Alps Progression Course: Sat 9 Jun Thur 14 Jun Course Cost 1,050

Advanced Paddling Course incorporating Level 4 Skills Assessment and RSR 2. This course will be run on the Soca in Slovenia on Gr III and Gr IV white water. Course participants should be of an aspirant Level 4 Skills Standard.Return flights to Venice Treviso as of today cost 185. The easiest way to get from Treviso to the Soca is to rent a car for the week between 3-4 people, this also gives you some independence during the week. Car rental for the week starts at 150.

Alps Essentials Course: Sat 16 Jun Thur 21 Jun Course Cost 1,050

Intermediate Paddling Course incorporating Level 4 Skills Training and RSR 2. This course will be run on the Soca in Slovenia on Gr II and Gr III white water. Course participants should be of a Level 3 Skills Standard.Return flights to Venice Treviso as of today cost 185. The easiest way to get from Treviso to the Soca is to rent a car for the week between 3-4 people, this also gives you some independence during the week. Car rental for the week starts at 150 Note: If there is demand we will run a Junior Alpine Kayaking Course from the 23 Jun to the 28 Jun. This course will be run on the Soca in Slovenia and will be subsidised for junior paddlers. A minimum of 8 juniors will be required for this course to go ahead. If you know of any juniors who might be interested please ask them to get in touch.

All above courses include
- Full board and lodging
- 6 day Kayaking Programme
- All in-course transport


Courses do not include
- International travel costs

We also hope to be running a series of Level 5 Skills Training and Assessments in Val Sesia in Italy on the dates below:

These courses do not include, board, accommodation or transport Level 5 Skills Assessment 28th & 29th May, Assessment cost 350Level 5 Skills Training 26th & 27th May, Course cost 250 If you are interested in coming on any of the above courses with us, or know anyone else who might be interested please feel free to forward them this email and ask them to get in touch with us and let us know as soon as possible.

I hope to get a rough idea of initial numbers by early next week to present to management so that I can get back to ye and confirm that we will be going ahead with the above trips.
