I can help out on Sunday - but unfortnately won't be able to make Saturday.

I have had a quick look at the forecast for Sunday - and it looks a bit breezy. Are any of you experienced sea kayakers able to give a view on what you think the conditions might be like? Last year was a bit hairy for the swimmers and some kayakers alike!

If you are thinking of providing assistance, please post here as each swimmer needs a kayaker in order to swim, so they would be really grateful if they knew in advance if they had a kayaker. They're looking for about 6 kayakers as the rest of the swimmers have organised their own kayak support.

Sorry won't be able to make this.

From last years event anybody going should have some experience of sea-kayaking as you will be on your own with a swimmer and you will need to be able to handle changable conditions if they occur.

Hi - is anyone else planning on going to this tomorrow? I will be picking up a sea kayak from the club house and can meet people there if necessary. It would be handy if there was someone else going - for loading kayaks and shuttle.

Hi Folks,
Can anyone else help out with this? They need about 4 or 5 paddlers to have enough cover. I cant make it myself as I'm a bit busy with nappy changes and bottles at the mo.... Fergus has been rininging me to see if I can round up a few more paddlers, any more help would be great.

Ha! Thanks Mairi. I thought the news had spread already better make it official and put it on the forum. Very Happy Very Happy

Baby Ethan John O'Sullivan was born last Saturday 27th August. All 10lbs 13oz of him. affraid affraid

Avril and Ethan are doing great. Going by the size of him and the way he's devouring bottles, it wont be long before he's in a kayak. lol!

That's great news Sean - congratulations to you all. Hope his big sister is coping well. Very Happy

The Cork / Cobh swim was shortened today - only went to Blackrock 'cos the forecast was pretty bad and they didn't want a repeat of last year's experience. So a 4 or 5 hour paddle turned into a 45 minute paddle. There was also only 12 swimmers - so they had enough paddlers, with two spare.
