PostSubject: When purchasing gear....   Mon 23 May 2011, 10:22 pm

Hi All,

When purchasing gear......

Please tell shop staff if you are a Phoenix Kayak Club member.

For Two Reasons:
1. You may get a discount!! Most Irish kayaking supply shops will give ICU (Irish Canoe Union) members a discount (normally 10%) on purchases. All Phoenix members are members of the ICU, part of your PKC membership fee is used to register you with the ICU who are responsible for the development of kayaking in Ireland.

2. More importantly, various shops have supported the club over the years, through sponsorship and supplying equipment at reduced cost. It is important that the shops feel their kindness to us is reciprocated by members shopping with them, or at least that we are considering purchasing from them.

Wearing your PKC jacket, hoodie, etc can be beneficial when shopping... Very Happy

Happy Paddling (& Shopping)
