Phoenix Kayak Club are based on the River Lee, and run Beginners courses throughout the Summer, while also entertaining their Current membership every Thursday night.

Two rescues in a week. Not bad for the services. Job security anyway. :-)

One solo paddle and one group. I know no one keeps the stats but I would love to know the level of training of paddlers rescued (in general not in these incidents). Then you could see if the training works or these 'rules' of paddling are in need of an overhaul.

Perhaps you could suggest it as an 'insider' in the emergency services......

We only do river rescue. The Marine Incident board is a whole different kettle of fish. (besides we have our own stats) Just curious, I would presume the ICU office would be the ones dealing with these things. (if at all)
