Well done to all that completed the descent today, especially those who did it for the first time. Fair play to you all. A great achievement.

There was a great turn out from the club & despite the rain and one broken paddle.....everything went according to plan & in some cases even better.... with our canadian duo & others arriving home completely dry with no swims! Well done lads.

Here is the link to the photos. http://picasaweb.google.com/118096041447552280676/20100904LiffeyDescent2010?authkey=Gv1sRgCOGQs8WpuPTq2AE#

There was a great buzz watching from the bank, so I can only imagine what it would be like if you did it...All going well next year......

Allana

Goodness what a day! Thanks photos are great Allana and support was really appreciated. 5 of us did it for the first time yesterday and we rocked! Thanks to everyone for the advice and encouragement over the last few weeks. And yes that is me going down Straffan! Thankfully there was no one taking photos at Palmerstown!

Great photos Allana and echoing the lads big thanks for doing the shuttle.
Sure next year commit to do it regardless! I had done not training this year. Admitedly it was very though and I'm wrecked now but it is worth is either way.

Like the new avatar Emer
And just so you know, I never told you about that secret camera I had hidden in my life jacket, that caught everything at Palmerstown. I'll put it up over the next day or two

Were you breaking paddles again Fergus? They are going to have to design you a steel re-enforced one, although I don't think it will be enough either!

Well done gang,

Day went well for all.
I think the nerves settled once we all got passed straffen and the constant reminding of the dreaded "log" in the weir

Great picks and thanks for the shuttle

Nice one Fergus! Myself, Paul, mairi and Emer all did the same line as yourself.
A continuous low brace saved me from the same fate.
It was class though, going through palmerstown totally the wrong way. I'll do it again next year Laughing

Bloody show off!

& yea Emer, the bloke directing sucked the big one! (in my humble & totally unbiased opinion of course)

He was standing way to far left...

At least I'll know what to aim for next year thanks to the video
