Found my scrap of paper with the distances on it. GPS measured. Needs
another one or two goes to get mean distance but here goes:

Slip to level with pontoon - 60m
Slip to turn point and back to slip - 5.2k
Slip to first wires crossing river - 1k
Slip to turn point - 2.57k

PostSubject: One more measurement added   Thu May 01 2008, 12:26

Slip to level with pontoon - 60m
Slip to first wires crossing river - 1k
Slip to large house on Right hand side - 1.75k
Slip to turn point - 2.57k
Slip to large house and back to slip - 3.5k
Slip to turn point and back to slip - 5.2k

Hopefully we will get some Marker Bouys out if there is interest in people trying to improve times over the summer.

Remember it doesn't have to be a race boat. Sea-kayak, Creek boat or whatever.

What do ye mean by "slip to pontoon" ? Slipway on the Lee Fields car park thingey? To Phoenix club pontoon? 60m doesn't seem right to me?
(just curious!)

Measured last year each of these a couple of times with a GPS

Slip to level with pontoon - 60m
Slip to turn point and back to slip - 5.2k
Slip to first wires crossing river - 1k
Slip to turn point - 2.57k

The slip to pontoon was level with the upsteam corner of slipway on straight road side, moving upsteam till level (on same side as straight road) with uppermost end of pontoon.

500m point is somewhere around the swimmers hut. The bush just past it I think. Need another one or two runs to make certain.

Dave I take it you mean the large house by the grotto? Also GPS or otherwise measured?
