| Mock Sea paddlers! That's lovely Noel after I arranging a demo of that lovely Whiskey 16 for ya and all. Right Folks, We still don't have enough interest here. We are not doing too bad but a bit more might help. Anyway we are going to push this out to the 1st of November. Gives everyone plenty of notice and gives us time to arrange all the boats. Can everyone who's coming along on the 1st let me know please? Those who can bring along a sea kayak, let me know what make and model it is also please? Thanks!

| Simon, thanks for the offer of the boat. I reckon we'll take you up on that! Lad's, pass the word around please, the more people we have for this the better. We need to justify people like Mark in MDAC shipping in boats for us to demo. Boats and paddles are probably the biggest headache for us to demo. Will people please state what type of paddle they can bring too. This is a great opportunity to see what gear people have, compare, discuss and try out. I'll bring: Boats: Phoenix' Necky Narpa and Dagger Cortez sea kayaks Paddles: H2O-2 carbon shaft (210-215cm, 0-90deg feather) sea paddle, and my Werner Sidekick 194cm 45deg feather. Gear: Palm Sidewinder cag, Artistic Aveto dry pants and Artistic Orco Exp bouyancy aid. Shred Ready Shaggy helmet. Also, if you don't mind, could people update their posts to say what gear they can bring too. Thanks Paul Heff |

| Just a thought but we shouldn't post this event on the Irish Sea Kayaking Bulletin Board and talk to Jim Kennedy/Jon Hynes etc?.. I know they are commercial operations but might be an idea? patp |

| Maighread that'll be grand, this day is open to paddlers who wish to try different equipment prior to considering a purchase. This idea started with Sean and myself trying to facilitate club members interested in sea kayaking, to try different boats. Afterwards, I reckoned it was worthwhile bringing stuff like paddles and personal gear into the mix as well, after all we'll have it with us. I have had a number of people contact me about expanding it, different boats, disciplines, instruction, displays etc. etc. I do see benefit in expanding the scope of the demo day, but don't forget, the aim on the day is to go for a paddle afterward. Even if we start at 10am, we could easily spend all day trying gear out as it is! A similar day with a broader scope is in the offing for the start of next season, so perhaps we'll stick to the original idea this time. That's my two pence worth. As ever, I'm open to suggestions. | Thanks Sean/Paul - As someone in the middle of trying to decide what gear & equipment to buy, I think this is a great idea. Unfortunately though I can't make the 1st of Nov, as I fly out the the U.S. with work that morning. If by any chance the date changes would be very interested in attending. Regards, Allana |

| Hi Folks, Great to see that this is starting to create a bit of a buzz! Obviously as Paul said people will have their own gear with them so it will be a good opportunity for people to try out a few of these as well. Sea paddles differ from river paddles so it’s an idea to give the different models a try and patp also has the handmade Greenland paddles. You might have a problem getting him to hand over his babies though. Only joking Pat’s a very approachable guy. Pat as for Irish Sea Kayaking Bulletin Board. I’m not too sure about this. We don’t want a load of unknown people showing up with no gear expecting to be setup with a number of demos. If you mean contacting Jim/Jon to spread the word I wouldn't have a problem with that. I have extended an invite to one of the Ocean Voyager paddlers (H2O Sea kayaking club) and told him if any of the club wants to come along to let me know. Don’t want to go down the whole commercial road. We have approached MDAC and Bantry Canoe for demo boats but that’s as far as it goes. If this is a success we could look at doing something bigger next year maybe. In saying all that this is a public part of the forum so anyone can read this. If people show up, so be it. We’ll try and accommodated everyone. |

| Yeah I was thinking there would be guys in Cork who paddle with the ISKA who would be interested. Don't think there would be much risk of a problem. I think the commercial guys could help spread the word and may even bring some of the fleet along - room for everybody? Anyway whatever you guys think is fine by me. |
